so today was AMAZING we woke up super early and got on this awesome dual engine plane to go from Port-Au-Prince to Jeremie. when we arived in jeremie i saw the haiti that i was originally expecting. A rural haiti with lush trees and small farms instead of a crowded city. when we reached the worksite god showed me so much. there was a little boy named mckenzie that was attached to me instantly. when i went to work we parted ways but after tha we met back up. my ankles were covered with dirt so mckenie just started to go get water and clean them. i had no idea what was going on so i just told him to stop. i then realized that we all need to be as humble as mckenzie to god and serve people that we may not know that well. we are in a country that needs to see gods love and i hope that he will work through us to do jst that.

ok that has to go on my top ten list of the sweetest things i have heard in my whole life. i am so glad that God is working in your life this way. is it much different that when you went to the Dominican or is it about the same? i hope that God continues to show you new things during the rest of the trip. i know that everyone here is praying for you. be sure to stay safe and hydrated, just make sure the water is clean :). i'm really glad that i got to here from you today, and i sent you a really long email so you can read that when you get the chance. i love you and i hope you have a great rest of your trip!
ReplyDeleteRose, Dad & I were excited to read about your experiences. It is so cool how God is showing Himself to you all on this trip. We love you! "Work for Jesus."
ReplyDeleteFirst Caleb, I want to say from an English teacher's point of view, you express yourself very well. Now with that being said, this is such a touching account of what you have experienced. I would imagine it would be hard to be humble and allow this sweet impoverished boy to do such a gesture for me too. May God bless you and the rest of the group. You have brought tears to my eyes!
