Sunday the 9th

{a brief post by Spencer Cary}

Today was our Sabbath here in Jeremie, which we were glad to use after a hard day's work from yesterday. I was helping work with the construction of the new orphanage yesterday. We were working along side of 50+ other Haitians. While working, we began building relationships with the Haitians while also sharing our love with the Haitian children who were watching us work. We have run into scores of malnourished children who are happy just to be able to spend time with us. Although there are so many people living in extreme poverty here in Jeremie, God is working. The ministry we are working with us changing the community, and God's kingdom is advancing. Today at church, we worshiped with 500+ Haitians. God is moving; He is working. I am just so blessed that he has chosen to use me to do His work.

  1. Thank you so much for the update Spencer!! If you can't tell, i check this blog like every five seconds so that i can know what you guys are up to and how God is working through all of you on your trip! I know that God has wonderful things planned for all of you down there. But he has not planned for any of you to get hurt or sick so PLEASE make sure that everyone stays out of trouble and keeps eating and drinking lots of water. Laura and I miss this whole group so much and we can't wait until all of you are back home safe so that we can hear your awesome stories. Laura and I also decided that you need to update this blog more often. We miss you all so much and we can't wait to hear about how the trip is going and how God is using all of you. So please keep us informed thoughout this week and continue to let God use you to do great things for his glory. You are loved and missed and most definitely being prayed for. Continue to have fun and celebrate in God's glory and please come back safe and sound.

    Katie!

  3. Thanks for the update Spencer! It seems that everyone is taking a specific day to update so that we at home have a chance to hear from all of you. As Katie said, we would love to have more updates, but I know as we patiently wait for the next update, your purpose there is not to keep us informed but to share the love of Christ with those that you come in contact with in Haiti. I know that God is blessing all of you by the pleasing response that you have received from those that you are working with, ministering to, or playing with. Again, I know that I speak for all of us back here when I say that we look forward to seeing you back here at the end of the week, but are so excited for you to continue with your work through out the week before your return. We love you, stay healthy and stay safe.
